    Mount Everest is the highest natural structure on the earth. This mountain has been successfully climbed by only two people: Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary. This mountain is covered with snow all throughout the year.

    Height: 8,611 metres

    Mountain range: Baltoro Karakoram

    Country: Pakistan and China

    This great mountain which comes on the second spot after Everest is located on the border of Pakistan and China. It lies in the Karakoram ranges. It has got the second highest climbing mortality rate and has never been climbed by anyone in the winter months.

    3. Kangchenjunga

    Height: 8,586 metres

    Mountain range: Kangchenjunga Himalaya

    Country: India and Nepal

    This mountain peak can easily be viewed by going to the Northern part of Sikkim which lies in the eastern part of India where this mountain is situated. This mountain was at first climbed by Joe Brown and George Band.

    4. Lhotse

    Height: 8,516 metres

    Mountain range: Mahalangur Himalaya

    Country: China and Nepal

    This great mountain peak is located on the border of China and Nepal. The parent mountain of this peak is the worlds highest mountain peak, Mount Everest. This mountain was first climbed by Fritz Luchsinger and Ernst Reiss.

    5. Makalu

    Height: 8,485 metres

    Mountain range: Mahalangur Himalaya

    Country: China and Nepal

    This peak is an isolated peak and it has got the shape of a four sided pyramid. This peak was at first climbed by Lionel Terray and Jean Couzy. All those people who attempted to climb this mountain before Lionel Terray and Jean Couzy failed in their attempts.
